Roland Ledergerber

Roland Ledergerber has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2021 and Chairman since 2022. He joined St.Galler Kantonalbank in December 1998 as Head of Corporate Clients and was subsequently Head of Sales and Deputy Head of Division. In 2002, he became a member of the Management Board and Head of the Private and Commercial Clients Division. From 1 February 2008 until 30 April 2021, he was President of the Executive Board. Before joining SGKB he worked for UBS AG in various positions in Switzerland and abroad in the following departments: Controlling, Corporate and Institutional Banking Europe as well as Commercial Clients Switzerland.
Adrian Rüesch

After his studies and his doctorate at the University of Zurich in 1982, he was working as a lawyer since 1983 and from 1987 as a partner in a law office in St. Gallen. Since 1992, he is co-owner of the office Rüesch Lawyers in St. Gallen.
Rolf Birrer

After graduating from the School of Economics and Business Administration (HWV), Rolf Birrer joined PricewaterhouseCoopers AG (PwC) in 1991. As partner and lead auditor, since 2001 he was in charge for numerous listed and privately held financial intermediaries. From 2007 - 2017, he was also PwC's Head of Banking Audit for the Zurich/St.Gallen/Vaduz region. He will retire from PwC on 30.6.2023. Due to his decision-making function at PwC, which has been mandated as the external auditor of St.Galler Kantonalbank for many years, he was proposed for election at the AGM on 3.5.2023 with effect from 1 July 2023.
Andrea Cornelius

Andrea Cornelius has been a lecturer for Digital Technology, Entrepreneurship and Marketing Management at the Munich University of Applied Sciences since 2018. Before moving to teaching and research, she had been working for IBM in various management positions for 10 years. Prior to that, Andrea Cornelius worked for international companies such as Allianz, Computer Sciences Corporation CSC and T-Systems Enterprise Services. She completed her physics studies at the Ruhr University Bochum in 1987 and received her PhD in natural sciences from the University of Hamburg in 1991.
Claudia Gietz Viehweger

HSG, University of St. Gallen in 1991 Claudia Gietz Viehweger worked at Zürcher Kantonalbank in various functions, including on mortgage financing and credit management and market research. From 1998 to 2019 she worked for Gietz AG in Gossau; from 2001 as a member of the Executive Board and Delegate of the Board of Directors.
Marc Mächler

Marc Mächler has been delegated by the Government Council of the Canton of St.Gallen accordance with article 5 of the Cantonal Bank Act. As Government Councillor, he represents the Canton of St.Gallen as the main shareholder in the board of directors of the St.Galler Kantonalbank.
Marc Mächler has been Government Councillor of the Canton of St.Gallen since 1 June 2016. Until 2020 he was Head of the Department of Construction. Since 1 June 2020 he has been Head of the Department of Finance. Prior to his election to the Government Council, he held various management positions at UBS for around 20 years. From 2009 – 2016 he worked in the Wealth Management & Swiss Banks division of UBS AG in St.Gallen, first as Head of Institutional Clients Eastern Switzerland, later as Head of HNW Rayon St.Gallen. From 2003 – 2008 he worked as a political consultant in the Corporate Center of UBS AG in Zurich. After graduating as lic. oec. HSG in 1996, Marc Mächler worked for UBS Warburg and its predecessor company SBC Warburg Dillon Read in the Corporate Finance department in Zurich until 2002.
Daniel Ott

Since 2020, Daniel Ott has been leading the product management unit as a member of the senior management team of ti&m AG, Zurich. The company is active in Switzerland in developing digitalisation, security and innovation projects and products. Prior to that, he worked for the Swiss big banks Credit Suisse and UBS for around 27 years in various management positions in IT. He was CIO of UBS Switzerland and CIO for UBS Asset Management as well as CIO for the global private banking of Credit Suisse.
Cornelia Stengel

Cornelia Stengel grew up in Wil (SG) and graduated as lic. iur. from the University of Zurich in 2004, where she also completed her doctorate in law in 2014. Also, she was admitted to the bar of the Canton of Zurich in 2009. She has been working as a lawyer specialising in financial market and data protection law for the law firm Kellerhals Carrard in Zurich since 2013 and has been a partner since 2017. She is also visiting professor and head of #FinTank at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW), member of the executive board and of the working group Regulations of Swiss Fintech Innovations (SFTI), managing director of the Schweizerischer Leasingverband (SLV) and a member of the Swiss Bankers Association's (SBA) expert commission on digitalisation.
Ivo Wechsler

Ivo Wechsler grew up in Wil (SG) and graduated as lic. oec. HSG from the University of St.Gallen in 1994. He has worked for the international technology group HUBER+SUHNER, based in Herisau/Pfäffikon ZH, since 2008 and has been Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Executive Board since 2010. He began his professional career in 1995 at the major Swiss bank UBS in the Corporate Finance division. He then spent around ten years working in finance for Sunrise and Ascom before joining HUBER+SUHNER as Head of Corporate Controlling in 2008.
Christian Schmid

Christian Schmid has been Chairman of the Management Board since May 1st, 2021.
Before that, he was a member of the Executive Board and Head of Corporate Center since August 2008. From 2004 to 2008, he was CEO of RSN Risk Solution Network AG and built it up to the leading outsourcing platform for credit risk management in Switzerland. From 1999 to 2003 Christian Schmid already worked for St.Galler Kantonalbank, at this time as Head of Credit Portfolio Management and Head of Business Development in Retail & Commercial Banking.
Patrick Graf

Patrick Graf has been a Member of the Management Board and Head of Corporate Center since August 1st 2021.
Before that, he worked for PostFinance AG in various management functions for more than 16 years, since 2014 as a member of the Management Board. From 2014 to 2017, he led the Corporate Center division, where he was, among others, responsible for risk management, legal and compliance. Since 2017, as Chief Business Unit Officer Payment Solutions, he has been responsible for large corporate clients as well as payment transactions. From 2012 - 2014, he was Head of Legal Services & Compliance. Before joining PostFinance AG, he worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers AG and Zurich Financial Services AG.
Falk Kohlmann

Falk Kohlmann has been a Member of the Management Board and Head of Market Services since January 2021.
He joined St.Galler Kantonalbank in 2016 as Head Digital Banking. Previous, as Head of Banking Trends and Innovation at Swisscom, he was responsible for the think tank e-foresight, which consults Swiss banks in digitalization.
René Walser

René Walser is a Member of the Management Board and Head of Retail and Commercial Clients since July 1st 2020.
He joined St.Galler Kantonalbank in 2008 as Head of Private and Commercial Clients of the region East St.Gallen. Prior to that, he worked for 12 years in the corporate client business of UBS in various functions, most recently as Head of Credit Risk Control Eastern Switzerland.
Hanspeter Wohlwend

Dr. Hanspeter Wohlwend serves on the Management Board and acts as Head of Private Banking since March 1st, 2018.
Before that, from 2016 - 2017 he was Head of Group Product Management at Liechtensteinische Landesbank AG. From 1995 - 2015, he worked for Notenstein Privatbank AG and its predecessor company Wegelin & Co. Privatbankiers in St. Gallen in various management functions. Since 2007, he was a member of the Executive Board. From 2007 - 2012, he was head of the operations division, from 2012 - 2015 he was Chief Operating Officer and Deputy CEO.
